BlackBird Makes It Happen at the 2004 Technology & Internet
Expo
March 25, 2004, Honolulu, HI - Members of the BlackBird
team got the word out to hundreds of tech-savvy attendees
at the 2004 Technology & Internet Expo on March 9,
2004 in the Ala Moana Hotel.
The trade show featured approximately 60 exhibitors and
over 2,000 visitors throughout the day. Many of Hawaii's
most well-known and up-and-coming companies showcased their
latest and greatest products, services, and innovations.
With strong and steady traffic throughout the event, the
BlackBird members were pleased with the turnout.
"The event was a tremendous success for BlackBird" stated
Josh Longbottom, Director of Sales & Marketing for
BlackBird. "We were able to make many new contacts at the
Expo and gathered some promising leads."
Change of Venue - Increased Attendance
The Trade Expo interested BlackBird due to its focus on
Hawaii's high-tech industry. For the past 5 years, the
event has been postponed. However, this year, the event
was restarted at the Ala Moana Hotel.
BlackBird participants were quite pleased with the turnout
and the overall success of the event.
"The Expo allowed us to showcase Blackbird successfully.
Our booth generated non-stop traffic with many interested
persons resulting in follow-up appointments." said Julie
Hiromoto, Systems Analyst for BlackBird. "It was a great
success and I look forward to next year's event."

Getting The Word
Out
BlackBird displayed a laptop on hand with a live internet
connection to inform trade show attendees about the benefits
of outsourcing network management services.
"The 2004 Technology & Internet Expo came at an opportune
time when government officials, business leaders, potential
investors, and the community at large have an increased
interest in high-tech development in Hawaii." says Longbottom. "They
really want to know how these products and services can
help businesses or individuals operate more effectively."
Without a doubt, the Expo presented a promising opportunity
for both attendees and exhibitors to learn about Hawaii's
latest innovations through exhibits and seminars, while networking
with colleagues and meeting some of Hawaii's most promising
high tech companies
State of the Industry - IT in Hawaii
"There's no doubt the commitment to develop a viable high
technology industry in Hawaii has gained tremendous momentum." says
Longbottom.
"Although funding for business investment and infrastructure
development remain key ingredients for solidifying our
stance as a high tech destination, so does education and
networking. Shows like this provide a venue for sharing
of knowledge and building relationships necessary for ht
IT industry to grow."
