Prefix is the first and last line of defense against all incoming and outgoing electronic messaging. It serves as a spam filter, virus scanner and backup resource. Prefix facilitates workflow, protects your business and contributes to the conservation of the environment.
Prefix has multiple filtering engines, which decrease the risk of losing sensitive information and prevent identity theft by eliminating spam from inboxes. Captured spam is routed to a quarantine folder where it can be accessed and reviewed through an intuitive Web-based interface.
We send out reports every three days detailing the captured spam. The reports outline the performance of our service and provide you with the opportunity to look through all quarantined messages.
Anti-Virus. In addition to collecting spam, Prefix's Exchange Hosted Filtering protects you from known viruses and provides threat protection against outbreaks. Multiple engines are integrated to continually provide critical virus definition updates. You won't have to worry about outbreaks at the office that slow down your network anymore.
Backup. If your email server or internet connection becomes unavailable for any reason, Prefix's Exchange Hosted Filtering ensures that no email is lost. After your email server is restored, all queued email is automatically forwarded. In cases of extended downtime, email can be rerouted to another server.

- An estimated worldwide total of 62 trillion spam emails were sent in 2008.
- If every inbox were protected by a state-of-the-art spam filter, organizations and individuals could reduce today's spam energy by approximately 75 percent. That's equivalent to taking 2.3 million cars off the road.
- Globally, annual spam energy use is equivalent to the electricity used in 2.4 million homes in the United States, with the same GHG emissions as 3.1 million passenger cars using two billion United States gallons of gasoline.*
